Well, they say you’ve got to be in it to win it, but while we were delighted to be nominated in two categories at the Yorkshire Choice Awards this year, we were amazed when we walked away as winners of the Independent Business of the Year award last Friday!
We’re still buzzing from our win and while we’re a little surprised, it does make all the hard work we’ve put in since our inception in 2012 worth it. Our strong company values and the dedication of our team have played a big part in our award success, but ultimately, we couldn’t have done it without you, our fantastic customers.

Our Journey From New Business To Award Winners
When our founding Director James Abbott launched the Mix and Twist mobile cocktail bar service, the business was a small start-up with big ideas – but in just 5 short years we’ve grown at an impressive rate, now with over 30 team members across the UK and creating lots of job opportunities in the Leeds region along the way.
We’ve always been committed to our local community, with both James Abbott and Commercial Director Lucy Barrow contributing to local volunteer projects and by consciously choosing to work with local suppliers. Lucy was also nominated in the Business Woman of the Year category, and while we didn’t secure that award, it’s a testament to her skills and knowledge to have been considered for this accolade!
In the last couple of years alone we’ve achieved a 300% growth, and we’re excited to be setting up a base in London later this year due to demand for our services in the area – with our mobile cocktail bars being used by both private clients and well-known brands such as Sky, Mini, Mercedes, Bentley, Moonpig, Adidas, Reebok and Thomas Cook.
